Lewis Miller

I spent more time looking out Australian contemporary painter Lewis Miller’s studio window than looking in and I wonder often how painters avoid this. I’ve probably spent more hours in this place than all others; it’s not large but I’m always finding something new. “Oh, there’s a photo of Lewis with David Hockney … and one with Gough Whitlam”. Small squares of Copper laid out with still life’s of Pomegranates and great swathes of Belgian Linen with sprawling nudes are scattered about between easels, chairs, and the painter’s debris.
